In association with Globe Education, as part of our Proffesional Engagement research, 5 of The Barded Ladies took to the Globe stage to perform Shakespeare's greatest play...Hamlet. Directed by the brilliant Jo Howarth, the production consisted of 4 Hamlets, 1 Ophelia and a lot of hard work. Whilst rehearsing intensively for two weeks at the Sackler studios for this production, we worked with many Globe practitioners.
It was a fantastic experience, and all devoloped hugely working at this level of proffesional theatre.
Cast for Hamlet at the Globe:
Ophelia/Bernado/Ghost - Kat Hipkiss
Hamlet/Horatio - Alice Tripp
Hamlet/Polonius - Tessa Walker
Hamlet/Francisco - Emi Howell
Hamlet/Marcellus - Charlotte Turner
Within the vibrant environment of the school playground, in a world where dragons are slain and princesses search for true love, our eccentric adaptation of one of Shakespeare's greatest comedies, A Midsummer Night's Dream, promises to leave audiences eager to relive childhood delights. This charming tale encompasses much of the joy, passion and battles experienced by a cluster of young children, and breathes life into the side-splitting silliness that lives within us all. So pick up your sword or grab your most treasured toy, for what lays ahead will be an adventure like no other!
The production is part of the Bristol Shakespeare Festival 2014 and in association with Bristol Pride.
